The Pacific Coast Highway is one of the most beautiful routes in the United States. If you take a trip on this stretch of road in your diesel RV, you can find something that is interesting to every member of your family. Animal lovers would be enthralled to see the Elephant Seal Rookery at San Piedras, San Simeon, where 15,000 or more elephant seals migrate to each year. Foodies can treat themselves to bao buns, fish tacos, and kimchi fries just outside Santa Barbara. In Los Angeles, you can spoil your taste buds with some grilled Waygu beef, Korean barbecue, and yummy pancakes. Enjoy nature at its best along this scenic route. Have a great time observing seaside villages, spectacular coastlines, wine producing districts, and pristine forests. Here are seven of the most beautiful spots that you must see on the Pacific Coast Highway:

  1. Redwood National Park

Do you love to see imposing redwood trees? Visit the Redwood National and State Parks to marvel at the beauty of these tall trees that are sure to leave you breathless. Relax and unwind in the lap of nature while watching the Olympic elk, also known as Roosevelt elk that graze on the North American prairie.

  1. The Golden Gate Bridge

If you are taking a road trip on the Pacific Coast Highway, you must visit the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. It is a suspension bridge that many considers to be the most magnificent in the world and presents a spectacular view while you cross the beautiful San Francisco Bay.

  1. Mendocino

A trip on the Pacific Coast Highway is not complete if you do not visit Mendocino, a beautiful town in Mendocino County in California. Considered as a historical landmark, this fair town is a favorite haunt of RV-ers and lets them explore Mendocino’s stunning coastline. The streets are beautiful too, with royal Victorian buildings and old-world saltbox cottages.

  1. Hearst Castle

Do you love visiting castles and that too in America? Visit the Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California. Built for William Randolph Hearst, a newspaper magnate, this grand and impressive Moorish-style castle is now open to the public. It has a 127-acre garden with more than 100 rooms. With spectacular pools, walkways, and terraces, the Hearst Castle is a must-visit place for you and your family.

  1. Solvang

Visit Solvang, a Danish town snuggled in the Santa Ynez Valley that’s unique in itself. Take a tour of this beautiful village town full of antique stores, Danish architecture, eateries, and more. Get to see the bust of Hans Christian Andersen here, and a replication of Copenhagen’s Little Mermaid statue. If you feel hungry on the way, take a quick break, and saunter into the Danish bakery, a family-owned business selling butter cookies, creamy pastries, and strudel.

  1. Bixby Bridge

Do you want to make your trip a little more interesting? The Bixby Bridge in south California is one of the tallest structures to keep you mesmerized. This is also one of the most popular and most-photographed spots on the Pacific Coast Highway. The scenic beauty that encompasses the bridge will make your road trip even better.

  1. Getty Center

Stop by the Getty Villa in California if you have a penchant for art and architecture. J. Paul Getty, an oil merchant and art collector, developed this Villa in Malibu to house his European art collection. Funded by Getty’s foundation, the museum is a must-see for all travelers. You can also take a tour of the new Getty Center, designed by an eminent American architect and abstract artist, Richard Meier. Go up to the hilltop and explore the area that’s known for its vantage point, spectacular views, and the art galleries within.
